Once upon a time (I just had to start this one out like that, this track pretty much calls for it), the ladies of Amiina composed the string section for some band called Sigur Rós. While some may consider that an accomplishment, it wasn’t enough for the Icelandic quartet and in 2007 they did the world a favor by releasing their first album, Kurr. They followed that up in 2010 with Puzzle, another delicate ode to everything that’s good in this terrible, terrible world.
Though arguably, that was not their biggest feat. This past week, Amiina helped to make one precocious blogger’s (read: me) fever a bit more tolerable.
Amiina: curing illnesses since 2012. Or something like that.
