Toro Y Moi “New Beat”

Tomorrow, I am off to see Chazwick (by the way, what an awesome name) and the boys perform in Seoul.

I’m not sure what to expect, but I think it’s safe to say it will rock my proverbial socks off.

Has anyone seen them perform? How was it?

Toro Y Moi - Still Sound

This my favorite song of 2011.

I’ll elaborate further when Tumblr stops acting like a little bitch.

Edit: Ok, Tumblr has ceased acting up.

Regarding my post with the Hercules and Love Affair, I’ve been rather disappointed with the sever lack of quality with the new music that’s been coming out.  Everything’s become a remix of a remix of a remix and originality seems to have flown the roost.  I’ve actually started to go back and listen to my older music from the late 90s and early aughts.

This song and album for that matter, however, highly contrasts the crap that’s been coming out.

Wishing Wars “Swim”

I can’t quite recall when I stumbled upon this little gem (the likely scenario? It was a Friday night, I was probably home alone, and boredom probably led me to a fruitless search across the internet for some semblance of decent music. I’m dramatic, I know). Regardless, Wishing Wars sounds a lot like Blackbird Blackbird, which is an undeniably great thing. Other quick comparisons: Washed Out, Toro Y Moi, and Teen Daze.

Are you not impressed yet?

Well what if I told that Wishing Wars is set to do an extensive collaboration with MGMT and Lady GaGa? What’s that? Oh right, that’s a lie.

Well, we can’t win them all.

Toro Y Moi “Leave Everywhere”

If every “unofficial” music video followed the genius of Heidi Petty’s creation for the this song, there would be no need for official videos. Yes, it’s that good.
